What is confirmed
Zenless Zone Zero launched on Steam on June 17, 2026, after the version 3.0 update. RPGSite reported on June 16, 2026 that Steam preloading was available that day (RPGSite, June 16, 2026).
Cross-platform support was announced. RPGSite reported cross-save through a HoYoverse account and cross-play across PC (Steam), PS5, Xbox Series X|S, iOS and Android. KeenGamer lists the other platforms as PC through HoYoverse's standalone launcher, iOS, Android, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S (KeenGamer, June 17, 2026).
The game is large. Steam lists 75 GB of required space. KeenGamer reported initial Steam files of 68.3 GB, with more data fetched after launching and logging in.
The launch code, now expired
KeenGamer reported a redemption code, ZZZSTEAM, tied to a 300,000-wishlist milestone, valid until July 29, 2026. It was reported to grant 6,666 Denny, 2 W-Engine Energy Modules, 2 Senior Investigator Logs and 60 Polychrome. That date has passed, so the code has expired. KeenGamer also reported that update rewards require Inter-Knot Level 4 or higher, and code gifts Level 5 or higher.
Caveats reported at launch
RPGSite listed three limits of the Steam version at launch: no early file preload through the HoYoPlay launcher, no Resource Management function on Steam, and the full game assets coming by default with no partial option. These are launch-week reports from one outlet. Check the live Steam page for the current state.
What is not confirmed
- Whether the caveats still apply today. The reports are from June 2026.
- Why Steam's listing date is Jun 16, 2026 while announcements say June 17. No source we read explains it.
- Reward details beyond KeenGamer's report. We did not find the code details in an official post we could read.
Earlier release context
Zenless Zone Zero was already on other platforms for almost two years before Steam. Wikipedia reports an initial release on July 4, 2024 for Windows, iOS, Android and PlayStation 5, an Xbox Series X|S release on June 6, 2025, and a Steam release in June 2026 (Wikipedia). That is why the Steam launch was a platform expansion, not a debut: the game, its accounts and its community existed before the Steam page did.
What the Steam listing shows
Steam lists the game as single-player with the "In-App Purchases" flag, partial controller support and a gamepad recommendation, with Family Sharing and age ratings that include ESRB Teen and PEGI 12. Those are the store's entries as read on October 4, 2026 (UTC).
Where it stands now
Steam shows 87.8% positive across 17,299 reviews, "Very Positive", as of October 4, 2026 (UTC). That is the highest all-language share among the 13 free PC games in our Steam review ranking. The listed minimum is 8 GB of RAM and 75 GB of storage, covered in the requirements comparison. For the 2026 timeline of Steam arrivals, see the PC free-to-play news hub.
