Not hands-on tested. This is a reception report built from Steam's public review data for Warframe, read on October 16, 2026: the all-languages and English-only totals (re-read at 00:51 UTC), a GamiPrime-drawn sample of the 1,000 most recent English reviews, and Steam's own snapshot of the latest 200 English reviews. It rests on what other Steam reviewers reported and what Steam's own labels say, not on GamiPrime's own play.
Steam labels Warframe Very Positive overall: 87.8% of 680,097 reviews are positive, a lifetime figure for Digital Extremes' free-to-play looter-shooter, which reached Steam on March 25, 2013, more than thirteen years ago. GamiPrime's own Games-category piece on Warframe already covers the play-or-skip decision from the spec sheet and that same headline number; this report instead asks a question a single lifetime percentage cannot answer: is recent reception in line with that lifetime average, or is the old average outrunning a recent slide? To check, GamiPrime pulled its own sample of recent English reviews independently of the earlier reading GamiPrime already has on file.
Warframe Steam reviews, lifetime, by language group
Read this with care: the all-languages figure blends review populations that do not move together. Steam's review API returns a separate count for English and for all languages combined; the gap between them is where the first piece of information sits.
| Reviewer group | Reviews | Positive | Steam label |
|---|---|---|---|
| All languages | 680,097 | 87.8% | Very Positive |
| English only | 302,742 | 91.9% | Very Positive |
Source: Steam's public appreviews API (purchase_type=all), re-read by GamiPrime October 16, 2026 at 00:51 UTC. Percentages are positive reviews divided by total, calculated by GamiPrime; labels are Steam's own. An earlier reading of the same two totals, taken for GamiPrime's earlier reading dated October 16, 2026, recorded 680,086 and 302,736 reviews respectively, both at the same percentages; the dozen-review difference between the two readings reflects the small number of new reviews Steam received in the time between them, not a correction.
English reviewers recommend Warframe at a noticeably higher rate than the all-languages blend, about 4 points higher. Why is not stated anywhere in this data. GamiPrime read no individual reviews for this report and Steam's totals carry no reasons, so no cause is offered here, the same caution this cluster's reports on Delta Force and Throne and Liberty apply to their own language gaps.

Eighteen days of recent English reviews, sampled independently
Steam's store page already surfaces one recency figure on its own: of the latest 200 English reviews, dated October 12 to 15, 2026, 187 are positive, or 93.5%. That is a narrow window, four days wide. To see whether it holds over a longer stretch, GamiPrime pulled the 1,000 most recent English reviews directly through Steam's public review endpoint (filter=recent, paginated by cursor) and grouped them into three windows by the calendar date each review was posted.
| Window | Reviews (n) | Positive | Share |
|---|---|---|---|
| Oct 9-15, 2026 | 370 | 339 | 91.6% |
| Oct 2-8, 2026 | 387 | 351 | 90.7% |
| Sep 27-Oct 1, 2026 (5 days, partial week) | 243 | 219 | 90.1% |
| All 1,000 reviews sampled | 1,000 | 909 | 90.9% |
Source: Steam's public appreviews API, English only, filter=recent, sampled by GamiPrime October 16, 2026 between roughly 00:50 and 00:52 UTC. The 1,000 reviews span September 27 to October 15, 2026; the oldest band covers five days rather than a full week because the sample ran out before reaching a seventh day, which is itself a data point: it took roughly eighteen days for 1,000 new English reviews to accumulate, an average of about 55 a day for a thirteen-year-old game.
Two readings. First, the three windows sit close together: 91.6%, 90.7% and 90.1%, a spread of 1.5 points. None of the three (nor the 1,000-review total at 90.9%) is far from the 91.9% lifetime English share; if anything, Steam's own narrower 200-review snapshot (93.5%) reads a little higher than GamiPrime's broader 1,000-review sample, not lower, which argues against a recent decline. Second, this stability is demonstrated for English reviews only; GamiPrime did not pull a recency sample in any other language for this report, so the same steadiness cannot be claimed for the all-languages figure.
What Steam's listing says about price, purchases and specs
Steam's store data lists Warframe as free to play, with the "In-App Purchases" flag set, the same flag carried by every free game in this cluster; see GamiPrime's explainer on how free-to-play PC games make money for what that flag generally covers before you spend. The data read for this report does not include a price list, a draw-rate disclosure, or a description of what any purchase unlocks.
The listing gives only one specification tier. Minimum: Windows 7 64-bit, an Intel Core i7 860 / i5 750 or AMD FX-4100-class processor, 4 GB RAM, a DirectX 11-capable graphics card, and 75 GB of storage. Steam publishes no separate recommended line for CPU, RAM, GPU or storage, and the platform field lists Windows only, with no Mac or Linux build. GamiPrime's free PC games system requirements comparison tracks how that 75 GB floor and missing recommended tier compare against the other titles in this cluster.

What this data cannot tell you
- How the game feels today, how it runs on a given machine, or whether its long-running Very Positive label reflects the base game, its current content, or something else. Review counts say how many reviewers recommend the game, not why.
- Why English reviewers recommend Warframe at a higher rate than the all-languages blend. No cause is stated in the sources read for this report.
- Whether the steadiness GamiPrime measured in English reviews also holds in other languages. Not sampled here.
- What Warframe's in-app purchases cost or unlock. Not covered by the data read here.
Frequently asked questions
Is Warframe rated well on Steam?
As of October 16, 2026 (00:51 UTC), 87.8% of 680,097 Steam reviews are positive across all languages, which Steam labels "Very Positive." The English-only figure is also Very Positive, at 91.9% of 302,742 reviews.
Has Warframe's Steam rating changed recently?
Not by much, based on GamiPrime's own sampling. The 1,000 most recent English reviews (September 27 to October 15, 2026) split into three windows at 91.6%, 90.7% and 90.1%, all within 1.5 points of each other and close to the 91.9% lifetime English share. Steam's own narrower snapshot of the latest 200 English reviews (October 12-15, 2026) reads even higher, at 93.5%.
Is Warframe free to play?
Steam's store data lists it as free, with in-app purchases. The data read for this report does not include prices or what the purchases unlock.
Our reading of Warframe's Steam reception
Steam's own numbers support a specific claim: Warframe's Very Positive label is not an old average coasting on a decade-plus of accumulated goodwill while recent opinion quietly slides. Three independently sampled recent windows and Steam's own 200-review snapshot all land close to, or above, the lifetime English share. Our reading: this is one of the steadier long-running reception records GamiPrime has measured in this cluster, worth noting on its own terms rather than assumed from the lifetime figure alone. It does not settle whether the all-languages gap matters to you, what the in-app purchases cost, or how the game plays; those remain open. For how Warframe's reception compares with other free-to-play PC games on the same measures, see GamiPrime's ranking of free-to-play PC games by Steam reviews, which uses the same method.

Last verified: October 16, 2026.
Advantages
- Steam rates Warframe Very Positive on both counts checked: 87.8% of 680,097 reviews across all languages and 91.9% of 302,742 reviews in English alone
- GamiPrime's own sample of the 1,000 most recent English reviews stays within 1.5 points of itself across three separate weekly windows: 91.6%, 90.7% and 90.1%
- Steam's own snapshot of the latest 200 English reviews (Oct. 12-15, 2026) reads 93.5% positive, above every other figure checked here, not below it
Disadvantages
- The all-languages share (87.8%) sits roughly 4 points below the English-only share (91.9%); nothing in the sources read for this report explains the gap
- Steam's listing gives no recommended specification tier, only a 4 GB RAM / 75 GB storage minimum (Windows 7 64-bit)
- None of GamiPrime's own recency sampling covers languages other than English, so the stability shown here is demonstrated for English-language reviews only
