Neverness to Everness (NTE) reaches a PC three ways, and the store you pick matters less than the account you log in with first. If you are new, the publisher's FAQ says you can log in with Steam and play. If you already have progress on another account, log in to that account first and link Steam second. If you have already clicked a Steam login, go straight to the section on that and change nothing yet.
Three ways to play NTE on PC
The official site offers a Steam button, an Epic Games Store button and a Windows setup file; nothing read from the publisher gives a performance or feature difference between them. Choose the client you already use. The one difference the sources show is the login: per the FAQ, currently only the Steam game client supports Steam login and linking.
The steps below are the publisher's own, from its Steam posts of August 18 and 19, 2026. GamiPrime has not run the game, linked an account or logged in; nothing here was tested. No publisher post read after August 19 says which sign-in methods the Epic Games Store version or the standalone launcher offer. A July 8 press page (Kaiden), written before Steam login existed, lists email, Facebook and Google for all three new platforms.
| Route | Where the official site sends you | Update steps in the 1.3 notes | Steam sign-in |
|---|---|---|---|
| Steam | Steam store page for NTE (app 4508340) | Close the game, exit and restart the Steam client, open your Library, find NTE, click Update | Yes in the Steam game client, per the FAQ |
| Epic Games Store | The game's Epic Games Store page (not opened by GamiPrime) | Close the game, reopen the game launcher, click Update | Not currently, per the FAQ |
| Standalone (Windows button) | A setup file of about 56.5 MB per the size the server reports (56,486,040 bytes, read without fetching the file), which suggests a launcher rather than the full game (GamiPrime's inference) | The notes' "PC" line: close the game, reopen the launcher, click Update | Not currently, per the FAQ |
Sources: the publisher's version 1.3 notes (August 18, 2026) and Steam login FAQ (August 19, 2026); PC options menu on the official site read on October 9, 2026 (UTC). The notes never say "standalone": matching their "PC" line to that setup file, and "not currently" in the last two rows (from the FAQ's "only the Steam game client"), are GamiPrime's readings.
A fourth button on the site, labeled "playOnPc", points to a destination GamiPrime did not follow; do not treat it as a route.

If you are new: log in with Steam, then link an email
Per the publisher's August 19 FAQ, a new player can log in with Steam and play. To keep playing on other platforms, link the Steam account to an email in the User Center; signing in with that email elsewhere syncs the same progress. Steam is the only route whose login the publisher documents; on the other two, its posts do not say how a new player signs in.
Mistake to avoid: choosing an email in a hurry. The FAQ says email accounts cannot be unlinked (Facebook, Google and Steam can be), so use the address you want to keep.
Two limits. Steam sign-in only arrived on August 19; no source read says how Steam players signed in before, so ignore older advice. And the Steam page still reads "Requires 3rd-Party Account: Perfect World Games Account" (read October 9), while the FAQ says a Steam login is enough to play. Both may be true if the Steam login creates the game account, but no source says so. NTE is free with in-app purchases; for how free-to-play PC games sell, see how free-to-play PC games make money.
If you already have progress: log in to the old account first
The order, per the publisher's August 19 FAQ: existing game account first, Steam second. Steps:
- To link Steam, use the Steam version of the game, because the FAQ says currently only the Steam game client supports Steam login and linking, not mobile or other clients. If you play through the Epic Games Store or the standalone launcher, there is nothing to link. The publisher does not document the sign-in methods on those routes, so use whichever method your existing account already uses.
- In the Steam version, sign in to your existing game account. Do not use a Steam login. The FAQ does not describe the sign-in screen, so use the method your account already uses.
- Open [User Center], then [Steam], and link your Steam account. Those two labels are the only ones the publisher gives; the name of the in-game Steam sign-in button is unknown.
Why the order matters: your UID (User ID) is the number that identifies a game account and holds its progress. The FAQ says logging in with Steam "automatically creates a brand-new User ID," and that Steam account cannot then be linked to a game account that already has progress.
On servers, the publisher said on June 27 that the Steam version supports cross-progression across the Asia, America, Europe and SEA servers (wording that reads two ways), while Kaiden (July 8) and allthings.how (May 13) say servers are separate; if server matters to you, ask support before you act.
If you already clicked Steam login first
Stop and change nothing. The FAQ says that once you are logged in with Steam, that account cannot be linked to a game account with progress.
For a Steam account linked to an email account, the FAQ says it can be unlinked in the User Center, the character progress then stays with the email account, and the freed Steam account can be linked to an NTE account not yet tied to Steam, again by logging in to the target account first.
What the FAQ does not say: whether those answers apply to an account created by a Steam login with no email linked, what happens to that account's progress if it is unlinked, or how to recover from the mistake. PlayNews (August 20) flags a related ambiguity in the FAQ. As a GamiPrime precaution, not something the FAQ says, do not unlink anything or log in elsewhere until support answers. Write to nte.contactus@perfectworld.com, the address the FAQ gives, and describe what you did and in what order; the FAQ names no other details to include. Never put a password in that message.

NTE PC requirements: will your PC run it?
The Steam page is the only official source of requirements GamiPrime found. It lists 110 GB for the Steam version; other storage sizes are not established. Read on October 9, 2026:
| Minimum | Recommended | |
|---|---|---|
| OS | Windows 10 64-bit | Windows 10 64-bit or above |
| CPU | Intel Core i7-10700 / Snapdragon X | Intel Core i7-12700 / Snapdragon X2 Elite |
| RAM | 16 GB | 32 GB |
| GPU | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 / AMD Radeon RX 5600 / Qualcomm Adreno X1 | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 / AMD Radeon RX 6700 / Qualcomm Adreno X2 |
| DirectX | 11 | 12 |
| Network | Broadband Internet connection | Broadband Internet connection |
| Storage | 110 GB | 110 GB |
Check CPU, RAM, GPU and free space against the minimum column. Other pages show 60, 70 or 90 GB (April to July, or undated); the listing wins. For how this compares with other free games, see the PC requirements comparison.
Steam Deck: the store page shows no Deck badge in a desktop browser, and Valve's compatibility data returned category 1, a "does not support SteamOS" result, on October 9. GamingOnLinux (July 8) reported the game runs on Linux only with a community Proton build, because of the anti-cheat. It does not address the Steam Deck itself. Windows is the only listed platform.
Updating NTE, and where the game stands after 1.4
The latest published update steps are the 1.3 ones in the table above; the 1.4 post has none and gives no patch size, requirement change or 1.5 date. Version 1.4 was scheduled to go live after the September 30 maintenance (06:00 to 11:00 UTC+8), per the publisher's September 29 announcement.
Next: if you use the Steam version, confirm 110 GB is free, sign in to your existing account in the Steam game client, and only then link Steam.
Frequently asked questions
Can you link an existing NTE account to Steam?
Yes, in the right order. Per the publisher's August 19, 2026 FAQ, open the Steam version, sign in to your existing game account first, then link Steam under [User Center] and [Steam]. Logging in with Steam first creates a new User ID that cannot then be linked to an account with progress.
Does the Epic Games Store version of NTE support Steam login?
No. The FAQ says only the Steam game client currently supports Steam login and linking.
Can NTE run on Steam Deck or Linux?
Not officially. Valve's compatibility data returned a "does not support SteamOS" result on October 9, 2026, and GamingOnLinux reported on July 8 that the game ran on Linux only with a community Proton build, because of the anti-cheat.
How much storage and RAM does NTE need on PC?
The Steam page lists 110 GB of storage on both tiers, with 16 GB RAM minimum and 32 GB recommended (read October 9, 2026).
