Once Human's Steam listing asks for the same 100 GB of free space whether you run the minimum or the recommended tier, but memory is not flat: the minimum lists 8 GB RAM, and the recommended tier doubles that to 16 GB. Specs below are from the Steam page as read on October 16, 2026 (UTC). Not benchmarked.
Official minimum and recommended specs
Storage holds flat at 100 GB. RAM, CPU and GPU all step up between tiers, and DirectX moves from version 11 to version 12.

What the numbers imply
Storage is the one line that does not move. 100 GB at minimum and 100 GB at recommended makes Once Human a zero-gap listing: the floor is also the ceiling the publisher lists. That pattern also shows up elsewhere in this Hardware cluster, at different sizes. Against the comparison set in our free PC games system requirements roundup (13 games, read October 4, 2026), Wuthering Waves lists the same zero-gap pattern at a larger 150 GB, and so does NTE: Neverness to Everness at 110 GB. Zenless Zone Zero's zero-gap sits lower, at 75 GB. Once Human's 100 GB lands between those two bands: smaller than Wuthering Waves and NTE, larger than Zenless Zone Zero. Where Winds Meet is a different shape entirely: its Steam minimum (130 GB) and recommended (200 GB) are 70 GB apart, so it is not zero-gap at all.
RAM is where the tiers actually separate. The minimum asks for 8 GB RAM, the recommended doubles it to 16 GB. That is a bigger jump than Zenless Zone Zero, whose listing keeps RAM at 8 GB on both tiers with no increase at all. It puts Once Human's minimum in the same low-RAM band as Zenless Zone Zero, while its recommended tier joins the 16 GB group the pillar roundup flags as the cluster's common ceiling (NTE: Neverness to Everness, Marvel Rivals, Wuthering Waves and Where Winds Meet all list 16 GB as a minimum, not just a recommendation, which is a stricter bar than Once Human sets).
DirectX changes version between tiers, not just hardware. The minimum lists DirectX 11; the recommended lists DirectX 12. Zenless Zone Zero's listing stays on DirectX 11 at both tiers, so a DirectX version bump between minimum and recommended is not something we found on every listing in this cluster. We did not check every published Steam page for this line, so this is reported only for the games this cluster's satellites and pillar already cover, not as a claim about the full catalog.
The SSD note is a recommendation, not a requirement, on both tiers. Steam's own wording is "SSD is highly recommended," repeated identically under minimum and recommended. The listing does not say the game refuses to run from a hard drive, and we found nothing that tests how it performs on one.

Check your PC first
- Free storage. Settings, System, Storage: confirm the target drive has 100 GB free. The figure is the same at both tiers, so there is no smaller option to fall back on.
- RAM. Task Manager, Performance, Memory: 8 GB clears the listed minimum; 16 GB clears the recommended tier, where the real difference between the two columns sits.
- GPU and DirectX. Task Manager, Performance, GPU for the card name, then Windows + R,
dxdiag, System tab, for the DirectX version. Compare the card against the GTX 750 Ti / RX 550 class at minimum or the GTX 1060 / RX 580 class at recommended, and confirm DirectX 12 support if you are aiming for the recommended tier.
Bottom line
Once Human's listed floor is not a small one: 100 GB of storage with no smaller tier to drop to, and a minimum RAM figure that the recommended tier doubles rather than nudges. Against the rest of the Hardware cluster, that storage figure is mid-pack among the games that also list a flat, zero-gap floor, and the RAM jump between tiers is sharper than Zenless Zone Zero's flat line but not out of step with games that set 16 GB as their minimum outright. That is a floor, not a promise. Not benchmarked.
Frequently asked questions
How many GB is Once Human?
100 GB on both the minimum and the recommended tier, with Steam noting that an SSD is highly recommended (listing re-read November 4, 2026). That is the listed figure, not a measured size on disk.
What are the minimum system requirements for Once Human on PC?
Steam lists Windows 10 64-bit, an Intel Core i5-4460 or Snapdragon X processor, 8 GB RAM, an Nvidia GTX 750 Ti 4GB or AMD Radeon RX 550 graphics card, DirectX 11 and 100 GB of available storage, with an SSD highly recommended.
Does Once Human need 16 GB of RAM?
Only at the recommended tier. The Steam minimum lists 8 GB RAM; the recommended tier lists 16 GB. The listing does not say whether the game runs poorly on 8 GB, only that 8 GB is the lowest figure Steam lists as supported.
Is the storage requirement different between minimum and recommended?
No. Both tiers list exactly 100 GB of available space. Storage is the one line in Once Human's Steam listing that does not change between minimum and recommended.
