Not hands-on tested. This is a reception report built from Steam's public review data, read on October 16, 2026 between 00:00 and 00:49 UTC, not from GamiPrime playing the game. NARAKA: BLADEPOINT carries Steam's "Mostly Positive" label, 73.3% of 303,293 reviews across every language. That single number hides which language group actually sets it: Simplified Chinese reviewers wrote 252,897 of those 303,293 reviews, 83.4% of the total, and rate the game at 71.9% positive, itself labeled Mostly Positive by Steam. English reviewers, 23,902 of the total, rate it a full tier higher at 81.1%, Very Positive. The all-languages score reads close to the Chinese figure because the Chinese sample is the overwhelming majority, not because languages broadly agree.

NARAKA: BLADEPOINT Steam reviews, by language

Read this with care: a blended, all-languages percentage can look representative while actually describing whichever language group is largest. Steam's review API returns a count and a label for each language separately; the table below is where the real picture is.

Reviewer language Reviews Share of all reviews Positive Steam label
All languages 303,293 100% 73.3% Mostly Positive
Simplified Chinese 252,897 83.4% 71.9% Mostly Positive

Source: Steam appreviews API, one query per language, read October 16, 2026 between 00:00 and 00:49 UTC. Percentages and shares are calculated by GamiPrime from Steam's positive and total counts; the labels are Steam's own. These fourteen languages total 301,670 reviews, 99.5% of the 303,293 all-languages count; the remaining 0.5% is spread across languages GamiPrime did not query individually.

Why the all-languages score tracks Chinese, not English

Most of the individual languages we checked are labeled Very Positive: German, French, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Polish and Turkish all clear 80%, several well above it. Five sit at Mostly Positive (Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Russian, Portuguese-Brazil and Spanish) and one, Japanese, is Mixed at 64.9% on a small 379-review sample. By a simple count of languages, the Very Positive label is more common than the Mostly Positive one.

Review volume does not follow that pattern. Simplified Chinese alone supplies more reviews than every other language combined, more than ten times the next-largest group, English. Weighted by review count rather than by language count, the all-languages figure (73.3%) sits 1.4 points above the Simplified Chinese figure (71.9%) and 7.8 points below the English figure (81.1%), which is consistent with an average dominated by its largest input. Our reading: NARAKA: BLADEPOINT's blended Steam score describes Simplified Chinese-language opinion closely and most other language groups, including English, only loosely. Why Simplified Chinese reviewers rate the game lower than most other languages we checked, while remaining a Mostly Positive majority rather than a negative one, is not stated anywhere in the sources read for this report. Any explanation, whether pointing to server performance, matchmaking population, monetization pacing or something else entirely, would be a guess, so this report offers none.

The last 200 reviews in the two largest language groups

A lifetime percentage can hide a recent shift. GamiPrime pulled the 200 most recent reviews in each of the two largest language groups through Steam's "recent" filter.

Language Latest 200 reviews, positive Date range covered
English 68.0% (136 of 200) August 3 to October 15, 2026
Simplified Chinese 60.0% (120 of 200) October 4 to October 15, 2026

Both recent samples read lower than their own lifetime figures: English drops from 81.1% lifetime to 68.0% in its latest 200, and Simplified Chinese drops from 71.9% lifetime to 60.0% in its latest 200. The two windows are different widths. The English sample's 200 most recent reviews span about two and a half months, a noticeably slower flow of new English reviews than the Simplified Chinese sample's 200, which cover not quite twelve days. A window that wide for English, compared with less than two weeks for Simplified Chinese, is itself worth noting: it points to recent English-language review activity on this listing being comparatively light, though Steam's data does not say why. Neither drop is explained by anything in the sources read for this report; both are reported as observations.

What Steam's review data does not explain

Several questions this report cannot answer from the sources read:

  • Why Simplified Chinese reviewers, the large majority of this game's Steam audience, rate it lower than most other languages checked, while still recommending it more often than not.
  • Why both of the two largest language groups read lower in their most recent 200 reviews than over their full history.
  • Why the English sample's most recent 200 reviews span roughly two and a half months while the Simplified Chinese sample's span not quite twelve days.
  • How the game feels to play, how it performs on a given PC, or how any individual reviewer's complaint or praise breaks down; Steam's totals count recommendations, not reasons.

NARAKA: BLADEPOINT also has a separate GamiPrime article built from the same live Steam listing, covering its specs and storage requirements rather than its review reception; that is a different question from the one this report answers and is not repeated here.

Our reading of NARAKA: BLADEPOINT's Steam reception

Steam's own numbers support a specific, limited claim. NARAKA: BLADEPOINT's Mostly Positive label is not an average of broadly similar opinions across languages; it is a figure set almost entirely by its Simplified Chinese-language reviewers, who account for 83.4% of all reviews and rate the game at 71.9% positive, a tier below English (81.1%) and below most of the dozen other languages GamiPrime checked. Recent reviews in both of the two largest groups read lower than their lifetime figures, and the data does not say why in either case. A reader who only sees the all-languages percentage is, in effect, reading the Simplified Chinese audience's opinion attributed to the whole player base. The language split is the fact worth carrying away. For how this fits alongside other free-to-play titles on Steam, the ranking of free-to-play PC games by Steam reviews uses the same per-language method across thirteen games.

Frequently asked questions

Why is NARAKA: BLADEPOINT Mostly Positive when English reviews are Very Positive?

Because Simplified Chinese reviewers wrote 83.4% of all reviews and rate it 71.9% positive, so they set the blended 73.3%. English reviewers, 7.9% of the total, rate it 81.1% (read October 16, 2026).

Which language rates NARAKA: BLADEPOINT lowest?

Of the fourteen languages checked, Japanese, at 64.9% positive (Mixed), though on only 379 reviews.

Are recent NARAKA: BLADEPOINT reviews lower?

Yes, in both of the two largest groups. The latest 200 English reviews were 68.0% positive and the latest 200 Simplified Chinese reviews 60.0%, both below their lifetime figures. The sources do not say why.

Method

Enough detail to redo the counts: Steam's public appreviews endpoint for app 1203220 (store.steampowered.com/appreviews/1203220), purchase_type=all, num_per_page=0 for the summary totals, queried once per language code (all, schinese, tchinese, english, russian, brazilian, german, french, spanish, koreana, japanese, thai, vietnamese, indonesian, polish, turkish), read October 16, 2026 between 00:00 and 00:49 UTC, not re-read since. Percentages and each language's share of the all-languages total are calculated by GamiPrime from Steam's total_positive and total_reviews fields; Steam's own label is used as returned in its review-label field for each query, not recalculated or interpreted by GamiPrime. The two 200-review recent samples (English, Simplified Chinese) use the same endpoint with filter=recent, num_per_page=100, two pages followed by cursor, counting voted_up true or false per review and reading the oldest and newest timestamp_created in each 200-review set. The all-languages total, English-only total, and English latest-200 figures match GamiPrime's earlier reading of the same day; the fourteen-language breakdown and the Simplified Chinese recent sample were read fresh for this report.
